That followed a front page story in the New York Times on October 10, 1999. That story was run by hundreds of newspapers, both large and small across the country. The story concerned how the IRS was refusing to accept installment agreements and was leaving billions uncollected despite the intent of the taxpayers to make significant monthly payments.
The October, 1999 issue of Worth magazine features an article on the current state of the IRS entitled More Mr. Nice Guy. Steve Kassel was the only tax practitioner quoted in the article. The article can be found on the Worth website.
