American Tax Relief Shut Down By Feds

REPORTING ON AMERICAN TAX RELIEF SINCE JANUARY 6 2006;
BEATING THE PRESS BY 4 YEARS, 9 MONTHS & 23 DAYS!

On September 28, 2010 we broke the news that the website of the notorious American Tax Relief company had been replaced by a statement from the Federal Trade Commission:

The Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) has filed a lawsuit against American Tax Relief LLC alleging that it has engaged in deceptive practices relating to the advertising, marketing, promotion, offering for sale, or sale of tax relief services. The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has issued a temporary restraining order prohibiting the alleged practices. You may obtain additional information directly from the FTC at www.ftc.gov.

We now know that the FTC has filed for a permanent injunction to shut down the operation of American Tax Relief.

If you were a client of American Tax Relief, it is time to hire someone else….and do it now.

American Tax Relief….Rating….F…..This is not a rating of which I would be particularly proud. American Tax Relief is actually far worse than your standard F rating. See for yourself. Click the link & read the review

American Tax Relief taps bank accounts without written authorization & poses as Enrolled Agents and attorneys in order to illegally obtain your confidential account information from the Internal Revenue Service.

Don’t believe the ads they run. Don’t call American Tax Relief.

So, I’m sure the other ones that advertise on TV and radio are MUCH better. After all, TV and radio wouldn’t run their ads unless they were fine upstanding businesses. HAH! Let’s see exactly who and what these companies are….

Nationwide Tax Relief….Rating….F….Now this one is a surprise. They were quoted today by Reuters and a couple months ago by Fox News, but click the link and it’s clear that the Better Business Bureau has the lowdown. They’re as low down as the others. Nationwide Tax Relief…be very wary with your money.

Power Tax Relief….Rating….F

Advantage Tax Resolution….Rating….F

Tax Incorporated….Rating….F

Associated Tax Relief….Rating….F….It appears their ads are complete lies. 94 unanswered complaints. Yet, their TV spots say that they’re 100% Circular 230 compliant. That’s a crock. Companies don’t comply with the U.S. Treasury Regulations Governing the Practice of Attorneys, CPAs & Enrolled Agents. The individual licensees have to comply. So, the ad sounds good, but it nothing more than a complete work of fiction….and the BBB says,
We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company’s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices”
